Long Bio
Currently based in New Jersey, Raquel Ramos is a pop-soul vocalist reminiscent of Kelly Clarkson, Sheryl Crow, Alicia Keys, and Pink. With a powerful voice that is soulful and larger than life in one moment, understated and vulnerable the next, Raquel’s emotional honesty and sharp observations about the human experience make her lyrically rich songs unmistakably hers.
A New York native of Puerto Rican heritage, her musical influences range from pop, classic soul, freestyle, and Latin, to the wild mix of R&B, hip-hop, and alternative rock that dominated the nineties.
Raquel has independently released two albums (the first, Unzipping the Mermaid, under the artist name Sirena Sol, followed by West Side Butter Pecan Life), as well as a handful of singles.
As a live performer, she is energetic and eager to connect with the audience, whether backed by a full band or performing with her acoustic duo partner, the gifted Lynn Davison.
